Collection Drives
Citywide drives collecting clothing and household goods from urban donors for processing and distribution.
Goonj is a Delhi-based non-profit founded in 1999 that treats urban material — clothing, household goods, unused belongings — as a powerful development resource for rural communities.
Rather than giving away goods as charity, Goonj's model links material contribution to community labour: villages earn goods by completing development work such as building paths, cleaning water sources or planting trees.
