SEWA Annual Mahila Sammelan
An annual gathering of SEWA members from across India, celebrating collective achievements and setting priorities.
SEWA — the Self Employed Women's Association — is a trade union of India's informal-sector women workers, founded in Ahmedabad in 1972. With over two million members, it is one of the world's largest organisations of informal workers.
SEWA organises women workers — home-based workers, street vendors, agricultural labourers and domestic workers — to secure their rights to work, income, food, health, childcare and shelter.
